About MSCAPM
The Mississippi Center for Advancement of Prehospital Medicine is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to strengthening EMS in Mississippi through education and enhancements in delivery of patient care. Our focus is on creating partnerships that improve access to EMS education and grant procurement for the purpose of enhancing prehospital care through:
- Development of a recruiting campaign utilizing multi-media platforms to educate the public about career opportunities in EMS.
- Creation of an online platform for delivery of an initial entry level EMS education course (EMR and EMT) that targets high-school students and non-traditional college students while partnering with community colleges to deliver the culmination of the educational experience.
- Establishment of a scholarship program that provides financial assistance for students seeking careers in EMS.
- Identification and procurement of federal, state and private grant funding to partner with existing EMS services to develop alternative methods of delivering prehospital care to improve the health and wellness of the citizens of the state of Mississippi.
